1. Samick Guitar Serial Number Decoder

I just bought a samick guitar, serial number 7040288. I understood that it was made in 1988. It has a double hum bucker placed tilted quite near. SOURCE: I have a 1966, 1969 Gibson Guitar. Serial # According to Gibson's website, your guitar is a 1983 model year guitar made on the 272nd day, in the Kalamazoo plant. If what you have here is a pic of the actual guitar, it is a Gibson SG.   Date my guitar - Samick Strat copy (big pictures!)

  
  Samick Strat copy - AUD$20 from the tip shop. Was a bit beat up, but fixed it up for $60. $80, and it plays pretty well as well. Anyone know the date on this? I've been told it's late 70's... Also, anyone know the model name? I've been told it's a Samick Flash.

  Judging by that paint job I'd say late 80's... so the eight at the beginning of the serial number probably stands for '88. This is just a total guess though.

  My guess is 1988 as well.
  I also have a Samick Valley Arts series 7/8 size strat that I absolutely LOVE the neck on it, but I have no idea when it's from but 94-95 is my guess. It's probably my favorite or second favorite neck that I own but I hate the headstock on it.

  29 years, and it's in absolutely fantastic condition. Still waiting on confirmation though.

  dating samick guitar by serial??

  i got a great deal last week on a samick artist series sg.
  i am tyrying to figure out how to date it by serial number.
  google is giving me a bunck of noise.
  anyone here have any idea?

  My first strat was a Samick, traded it for a Peavey t-26. maybe you can email them the serial number.

  Yeah, I saw that outfit being sold in the redundancy department at JC Penny.
  Every component has been tweaked to the max.
